Fantasy illustration - The CreativeMindClass Blog

What would you say about the style you prefer?

It's somewhere between stylized as well as real-life fantasy illustrations. I rely on a variety of aqua and muted color palettes and generally work with natural, fluid shapes. I think my "style" as a fantasy illustration artist is heavily dictated by the colors I use and what subject matter I choose to draw but not always the way the painting is done. I was previously working in a much more line-oriented style but I've recently been transitioning into a looser and more expressive style.

What are the most important factors for creating drawings of fantasy art?

I'm constantly re-examining them until the image appears to be closest to what I envision the image in my mind (within the reason that I don't want to devote months to a single painting). I strive to make my designs more complex to the limit and never settle for just a poor illustration. I'd prefer to take a long amount of time trying to get my fantasy illustration right instead of rushing through it.

Where can people see the fantasy drawings you've created?

I'll be a part of the forthcoming "Oceans and Currents" exhibit at Gallery Nucleus during July! In the meantime I'm through Instagram. Prints are available for sale on my store online Bandcamp if anyone would be interested!

Also, I have a YouTube as well as Bandcamp for people who want to know more about my work since I'll be releasing new songs shortly.

Her Background

I graduated in my school, the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I currently work in the industry of entertainment arts as a concept artist and illustrator. Additionally, I am working on a innovative project called Pearl Farm in which I make illustrations. I write, and sing original songs.

The illustrations for the article come drawn from my own work, Pearl Farm. The story is my own that follows a travel troubadour known as Vinny as well as her pet Ray Hubble as they make their way through a vast planet called"the Lofty Coastline.
