Ever since she was a little kid the New Zealand-based artist and interior design consultant Evie Kemp enjoyed art and design. "I was always drawing, redesigning my dollhouse, or watching makeovers of rooms on television." In her teens, Evie says, "I was very frightened of being 'different' and did everything to stay out of the spotlight."

This desire to make a statement led her to law school. But while studying law, "my mental health became bad," Evie says, "and I was forced to take six months off. As I began to recover, I focused on working out what I really did enjoy, and I decided to go to school for graphic design instead." Returning to the art she loved from childhood changed her life. "It was in that way when I began to find my voice and embrace the many quirks I'd held aside for so long."

In the 15 years since the moment she made that choice to concentrate on developing her skills in a career she's passionate about, Evie's self-confidence and her artistic voice has allowed her to establish her own business. "I find more and more that I'm bolder and more artistic and colorful than ever," she says. "It's a bit like the old "Which one was first: the chicken or the egg question I'm not sure whether I become more secure and at ease with myself the more my work becomes more exuberant and vibrant, or if it's actually reversed. My style isn't something I would say is "developed," but I'm sure it's in the process of developing."

Evie's style shines through in her bold style, which is brimming with bright colors and mixed patterns. Check out Evie's suggestions on creating an online identity which reflects your personality and a content-driven strategy and how various income streams with ease.

Creating a uniquely "you" web site

What and how you show your presence online is vital for the success of any creator or entrepreneur. As Evie states: "For me, my web page and my social media accounts are my 'face. In the digital age I believe that my site is my identity and must charm and convince people of my expertise."

A brand-name website that reflects you and what you offer isn't just important because an identifiable brand can help you stand out from the competition. It's equally important to correctly portray your brand's style and draw the kind of customers, clients or audiences that are the most comfortable to your brand.

Make a website as functional as it is eye-catching

Another must-have one of the most important features for Evie is an announcement bar that welcomes visitors at the top of each page on her website. "My website has lots of material, and it's a great idea to quickly highlight certain items!"

The features she is grateful for can "take me a minute to update, but ensure that my website is up-to-date and functioning as best as it possibly can."
