Although many children get an early entrepreneurial start by selling sweets to friends, Morgan Hipworth took his early interest in food to the next step. Young founder of the popular Australian bakery, Bistro Morgan was able to develop a love of food via cooking programs at around seven years old.

"I observed other kids in the news working toward their goals and I thought to myself, 'If they're able to do it, I can do it too,'" Morgan says. He put that conviction into action "Each weekend, I would cook three courses for my family and parents and serve my food at the table of my family," he says. "I expanded my clients to my extended family by providing freshly baked treats for birthdays and events." At age 13 I was asked by the local café, and was then solely responsible for its supply of bakery goods and desserts.

Include your customers in the story of your brand

"Being in a position to be able to share an engaging story that really brings people along has been a fundamental part of building a customer base," he says. "Connection is the number one goal, and what turns a one-off customer into a long-term customer who will remain loyal to you for the rest of their lives."
