Creative thinking runs through the family for artist and illustrator Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, who is also an artist, was a major influence on his work--even when she was not entirely happy of his professional choices. "First she wasn't a big fan of my becoming a full-time artist. She probably knew how hard it is, because of her own experience. However, I decided to give it a try and fortunately, survived," Kentaro says. "She has been the main source of inspiration to me."
Kentaro grew up in the village of a fishing family in Toyama, Japan, but moved to Australia aged 18 which is where he currently lives in Sydney. Since then and subsequent success, Kentaro has built a part-time, freelance job as an artist. He sells paintings, prints and custom surfboards and murals, and collaborating with major brands and musicians.
