My story
My name is Ekaterina Boguslavskaya. I was born in Russia.
I went to school in Moscow however, I also lived outdoors in the countryside.
There was no hot water, the house was heated by a furnace which was used by the neighbors to raise cows and goats. Wonderful times! In addition to nature and bikes, I was obsessed with animated cartoons. All my peers became adults and stopped enjoying cartoons. But I did contrary! I realized that this could be my preferred thing to do. It was how I got into film school located in Moscow, Russia.

My personal style
I want my drawings to always bring out some deeply emotional emotions. As if you are sitting with a fire in the middle of an afternoon of ski through the forest.

My procedure
I love drawing. The process has a lot in common with meditation. If I'm in the process of working in the dark, it might get dark outside, I'll get hungry, but it doesn't really matters while I'm working.

Today, I am employed in the animation industry and illustration... And there are board games too. I really love the work I do.
I've always drawn a lot. However, it began to look more professional after I finished my degree. Since I started to think about which and how to draw.

My advice to doubtful visual artists
Consider what you enjoy and enjoy your time with it. Try to listen less to the opinions of others who you don't enjoy what they are doing. It will all work out! And there will be people who will be enthralled by what you're doing.

My technique
I draw almost everything on my iPad using Procreate. I sometimes finish some thing with Photoshop.
The iPad has transformed my lifestyle. Now I work in my bed, at libraries, in cafes. I choose a place to work. I also travel, and I am not confined to sitting in front of my computer. The iPad is a wonderful tool which combines traditional drawing with computer drawing.

The iPad comes with amazing brush brushes. For example, I got watercolor brushes through "The Watercolor MaxPack - Brushes for Procreate". It is a joy every time I try them. They're very close to the real thing as they can get.

A few thoughts on what I do for job.
I try to make a rough outline of the objects. Since I find hard lines rough and cold.
Sometimes, I tint my shadows cold and bluish by using the multiplier setting. Sometimes I employ overlay. It's a bit confusing for me. very much.

Procreate has some good blur options, check these out! There are several types of them and they're excellent. But mostly I draw as I draw using traditional tools on paper or canvas.
I'm still searching, still researching my subject matter, and trying to get closer to my image that I enjoy by doing personal projects.

The Teriberka series. Teriberka series
I went there after my trip (to Teriberka). Russian North, the Arctic. The town was once built ships to capture a large amount of fish. Now it's kind of abandoned.
Please Google it! It is very beautiful.

I always like the North.
I love the people, the animals and the million of shades of the moss. The tiny berries have a lot of vitamins, more than any tropical fruit. This is quite impressive.
Northern rock formations look similar to the skin of huge elephants! These are the emotions which I have tried to portray in these photos.

Concerning the Tiny Things series
The idea came to my head after I had become exhausted of work, the pandemic, and the city.

I picked up the macro lens and headed to the woods. What a stunning beauty lay beneath my feet! Every inch of nature was beautiful. It gave me plenty of inspiration and creativity. It was how this idea came to be.
No matter what happens, there is a miracle right under the feet!

How do I manage my time for work?
The hardest thing is to manage time and rest as well as refuse offers that are not particularly acceptable. Or to take on a lot of work and try to survive and not get tired from doing the things you enjoy. The whole thing I'm studying.

The creative blockages
The most difficult aspect is actually the procedure itself - sometimes it doesn't work out. It's not what I like about the outcome. This means you'll have to suffer for eight hours, get frustrated. And then a couple of days later, you can redo it in a matter of minutes and the result looks perfect. What's that? Magic.

A few tips about how to get over the creative blockages
When there is some kind of task - do not sit down immediately to draw (if it's possible). Your brain should be able to process the task as you go along engaged in other activities. This is how I believe that the most effective solutions will come.

What do I think of my work
If I was to evaluate my work, I'd never rate myself the grade of "excellent". It's extremely exhausting and makes me do my best to make myself miserable. On the other hand I am pushed forward.
Drawing is like a great adventure!
You have tickets for a destination, and you already know something from Google, something will surprise you on the spot. It seems like a cool adventure to me.
