Art collages - The CreativeMindClass Blog

The other day, I caught Olga sharing Instagram posts about my neighborhood from childhood. In Warsaw's urban jungle is an undiscovered, sacred green area. I would visit it during the summer months to gaze at beautiful old pine trees and take a breath of fresh air inside my urban lungs. In her tale, Olga visited this area in her first visit, but she was also fascinated by the most ancient gardens in Warsaw. And I bet that soon she will create an inspired Boernerowo painting.

We inquired with Olga what she uses as the basis for designing her minimalist collages as well as artworks of human-shaped landscapes.

"My name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. From the time I was a kid, I've been drawing and painting plenty. I attended an art school in high school. I also studied Drawing as well as Cultural Studies at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm a designer, artist, and illustrator as well as a graphic designer. My work is a examine the interplay between humankind and nature by carefully observing the way we create the environment in our backyards. Through observing trimmed hedges, decorative plants, and well-designed home gardens I'm trying to capture the eerie environment that surrounds us."

"For some time, I've created minimalist collages. The collages are inspired by landscapes, still life, or are created as a result of experimentation with forms, textures and colors.

My style is eclectic since collage and painting are very different, but they have one thing in common: they soothe. I've heard this phrase from my audience many times and believe that is the best description of my art. When I'm tired of painting, I make collages, and vice versa. A certain style can be a brief escape from the other.

It is my opinion that observation is the most important thing. I am attentive to all that surrounds me, architectural structures, nature, as well as objects. The result is my artwork. My artworks don't see any person, but you get the feeling of human beings in hedges that have been cut or in a cup left at the end of the dining table."
