Five reasons to join our New Slack Community: Global SaaS Leadership --

Mar 24, 2022

The TL;DR version of the article reads as this:

  • The company has just announced a new (free!) Slack community: Global SaaS Leaders.
  • This program is available to those who are the chiefs of established SaaS as well as software companies (including the founders! ).

We're beginning a new free Slack community

Because community is awesome!

No, seriously.

There are many additional SaaS and software communities on the market. Many of them are fantastic.

As we started to think about the types of community that welike to be part of, we saw the opportunity to make something new.

In this regard We created Global SaaS Leaders as a space with five unique qualities:

1. Global Focus

There were a myriad of SaaS and software-based communities which were U.S.-based or focused in a specific area.

Global SaaS Leaders will be distinct. It could be in that U.S., but our customers and the wider SaaS community span throughout the globe..

As we grow the community, we'll become conscious of having a broad membership base with a global outlook.

2. The concept is designed to appeal to the top executives of long-standing software and SaaS companies.

One of the most engaging discussions we could find online revolved around the idea of starting an entirely brand new SaaS business:          edZhKPfpGPQPubzHjDy

Discussions like this are useful for those seeking to create the base of an SaaS.

At the end of the day, we found that it's very difficult to locate helpful discussions between leaders from well-established SaaS and software businesses.

This is why we've decided that we should create an online community of SaaS users who think of scaling up and expanding the size of an already established Software-based enterprise and not constructing minimum viable products or getting money for seed stages.

If you're a life-long entrepreneur who has a self-funded SaaS that is already generating $10,000 per month, we'd like meet other entrepreneurs who are like you.

As if you were the director of a development team at a venture-backed start-up which is just crossing the $10 million mark a year.

We will focus on that at the upcoming Global SaaS Leaders: to provide a forum in which you can discuss your specific issues once you have achieved product-market-fit and then begin to scale.

3. Professionally moderated

It's the responsibility of a determined and skilled moderator (or group of moderators!) to create a positive, friendly culture in a group.

We've learned a lot from watching the Reddit community. Take r/entrepreneur as an instance.

Even the most trusted communities like this often struggle to concentrate. It's telling that the top thread in the last year was not even. top thread in the past year was a heated discussion on how the rise of cryptocurrency had dominated the news feed

Katie Stephan and Nathan Collier (authors of this blog!) is the first moderation team at the time of the beginning of the Global SaaS Leaders community.

More than an entire decade of working in the area of managing online communities with hundreds of members.

and the creation and launch of this community is one of the job description.

We'll keep the conversation confined towards SaaS as well as software and we'll ensure that you don't need to deal with spam or unsolicited emails, Personal attacks, trolling of any sort.

4. Is not focused on venture capital , or funding rounds

It doesn't matter whether you're bootstrapped, venture-funded, private-equity support, or any other ownership model.

World SaaS Leaders won't be a place with a major attention to the financing of rounds, or exit strategies.

Instead, we hope to create a forum to have discussions about hiring, revenue and profit pricing models for tools, technological infrastructure and everything else that could contribute to the expansion of the software industry.

It's okay for members to occasionally talk about financing. However, it shouldn't be the the only topic of discussion.

5. The most helpful SaaS and software communities online

Certain online communities can be risky sites.

Whatever it is you're seeking, where you're from, and regardless of your personal experience, we'd like you to be comfortable posting your thoughts and participating with us in our community online.

Katie and I will do all that we can to foster a supportive and positive environment within the community we have created. Additionally, we won't tolerate the personal attack of others, bigotry racism, sexism, or any other form of disrespectful conduct.

Our mission is nothing less than to create the most supportive SaaS and software community online.
