A domain for a website is the URL is entered into your browser to open a particular website. The URL for a website is composed of a number of elements:

Protocol or scheme

Subdomain

Domain name is also referred to as second-level domain

Top-level domain (TLD)

Subdirectory or Page route

A majority of users are required to check your domain's name, URL, and the TLD. The domain name you choose is your unique identification number that identifies your site ("" within .com) while your TLD will be the extension of your website (like .com, .net, or .org) as well as your page path will be an individual page of your website (like "/blog" for .com/blog).
