When Jeremy Cohen was 15 and a half, he took a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park unexpectedly sparked his passion for photography.

"My father brought me a tiny digital camera point-and-shoot," Jeremy shared with . "My sister started to take pictures with it and I thought they looked really amazing, so I decided to try it out. I shot a number of photos from nature, and it inspired me to sign up for the film photography class at my high school as an elective once I came back home."

That early curiosity to capture the world around him set the tone for Jeremy's journey as a professional photographer. From his Quarantine Roof Culture series through his daily Today I Photographed portrait project, Jeremy went on to utilize his camera in order to "uplift and amplify untold depictions of the human condition." And people noticed: Jeremy has built an following of more than a million people on social media and has been able build a successful freelance career.

Pivoting to freelance with an online site

This strategy worked: "I started to get employed for a few small jobs but then worked my way up to finally work full-time as a freelance photographer."

"I have many uses for my website ," Jeremy says. "It's my main portfolio for people to see the best of the best of my work. Whether they're personal or client work, or miscellaneous images."

A website can also help to establish freelancers' credibility. "In my experience," Jeremy says, "a good website is crucial to any photographer who wants clients to take them seriously."
