The family tradition of creativity runs deep for the artist and illustrator Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, too an artist has had an influencer on his work--even when she wasn't entirely on board of his career choices. "First she wasn't an advocate of my being a full-time artist. It was likely that she knew it was difficult based on her own experience. It was a challenge however, I decided to attempt it and fortunately did not fail," Kentaro says. "She is certainly the greatest motivational figure to me."

Kentaro is a native of a fishing village located in Toyama, Japan, but moved to Australia at the age of 18 and currently lives in Sydney. The move to Australia has lead to a successful full-time freelance career as an artist who sells prints, paintings and custom surfboards, as well as murals as well as collaboration with the top music and brands.

Learn more about the method by which Kentaro came up with his distinct aesthetic, and also how his website has grown with him over the last decade, to help his work and express his distinct personality.
