Creativity runs in the family for the artist and illustrator Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, also an artist, had an influential influence in his workeven though she was not completely happy with his career moves. "First she was not an advocate of my making the transition to a full-time career. I believe she understood that it was difficult because of her experiences. However, I decided to give an attempt and was able to make it to the end," Kentaro says. "She is the best motivator to me."

Kentaro grew up in an small fishing village located in Toyama, Japan, but relocated to Australia when he was 18 and has since become a resident of Sydney. Since then, he's carved out a successful part-time, independent job as an artist. He offers prints for sale, custom-designed painting murals and surfboards. He also collaborates with major brands and musicians.
