What's your history?
"My moniker is Sylvia Boomer Yang. I'm an illustrator animator and GIF artist based in Brooklyn, New York. "I grew up in Taiwan and started with fine art school in my early years. I always enjoyed drawing, but I began to be stymied in a strict education style. I felt that I couldn't express my own identity and voice using conventional tools of art. Learning about fine art definitely helped me to build the base for where I am today."

"I went to design in college before moving into New York for grad school. This was when I started experimenting with digital animations as well as animation. Animation has given me the capability to mix illustrations and motion in order to tell stories with a lively manner. I really enjoyed discovering how to transform still images into motion."

"Collaboration/teamwork is one of the keys I evaluate a lot. I love how team members come up with ideas as a group, and I believe that great work usually is made by a collection of people with distinct strengths and abilities.
The day-to-day life of I'm always creating new things that keep me inspired. When not designing motion graphics, I could find myself making chaos in my kitchen (lots in cooking) and creating crafts. I often visit Brooklyn market and try my hand on various food items at the kitchen table at. There is a world full of wonderful things. I love to travel and explore different cultures, new communities, as well as innovative art."
