The art of creating as a means to escape The CreativeMindClass Blog
I'm born in Venezuela. I was raised in a city that was very tropical which was filled with palm trees and mountains. I was never allowed to fully experience the world around me (partly because of the over protection of my parents as well as due to the never-ending insecurity that surrounded my own country). My time was spent in my home. The TV and reading were my preferred forms of entertainment as well as drawing! I'd draw for hours on end my absolute beloved characters from anime, as also my dear animals, my family, the pets, costumes, and anything actually.
The main reason behind this was an activity for leisure in the moment, but I realized that I would not be able to go further than Venezuela. My family however, made the decision to move to the UK and it changed the course of my life. As a teen, I had finally the liberty to be a thinker for myself and to travel to locations on my own, and contemplate what I would like to accomplish.
My love of characters and stories led me to research comics which later led me into illustration. All became one. After some years of study (and endless hours of work) I'm currently working as an illustrator based in London.
My style is fun as well as bold and at times chaotic (in the best kind of). Some of my illustrations are straightforward, while at other times they are complicated. Every illustration depicts an animal or person or a beautiful landscape. All of my drawings belong to the same world.
For me, the most important factor is enjoying yourself when playing. I think of the aspects that made me smile during my childhood: bright shades, as well as adorable characters, hilarious moment and small things to lose myself in. My goal is to incorporate the most attractive elements of these whenever I create an idea that is completely innovative. If I'm able inspire viewers to feel satisfied or content, or feel as that they've come across something intriguing as well as exciting and intriguing and exciting, then I've accomplished what I wanted.
"Another crucial element that I'm looking for is an ability to laugh. Over time I've learned that I'm not an able person to create elaborate or abstract art. But I'm pretty skilled in creating an entertaining piece that will provoke laughter. It's a game I play with my strengths at the moment."
