The best teachers are the best sellers (They Aren't Quite Sure of It But)

Aug 3, 2022

The majority of teachers feel that selling is unpleasant and unnatural. There's a way for teachers to make sales in a natural and sustainable way through instructing.

I interact with creators on a daily basis. I've conducted research on thousands (maybe thousands?) of artists at nearly all sizes imaginable. Every creator is different. However, if there's just one major lesson to be learned from interacting with the creators of our world, it's this:

Creators find selling uncomfortable (and think they're terrible in selling).

Sell hampers "course creation ability and enthusiasm," one told me. "It's not something that we're used to, or skilled in," another says. "I know how important [marketing] does, but how do know how to implement an effective strategy? I'm not sure." These kinds of comments are commonplace in 's Facebook group.

I'm determined to make selling natural for people who need it. I'm here to make selling natural for those who want to instruct.

A major component? shifting the core belief about what "selling" entails. Yes, it can involve creating marketing funnels, paid advertising, and emails. However, that isn't the last thing creators would like to tackle which is why it stifles their enthusiasm for teaching.

However, here's the amazing aspect that I would like every creator were aware of. It's an incredibly simple knowledge that is often overlooked by people. Everyone has the most effective tool available to sell. It's what they excel at and what they love doing most in teaching. To sell more, creators must be more educated.

Transformational funnels >>> marketing funnels

I've come to think about the teaching process as being a way to guide transformation. Think about it. If you've ever learnt something, some kind of transformative event occurred. A before and after. Maybe someone went from "I cannot juggle any of it" and then "I can handle three balls." It's quite a change! In the next few lessons, another transformation happens and the person is able to say "I can manage to juggle four balls!" Soon they begin to realize that things can be able to juggle wherever they go. The world turns into a place full of potential juggling possibilities. That's transformation.

Reminisce back to the time you actually gained something. It was a satisfying and building experience. There was probably a sequence of shifts that all built upon the other to the point where you could not believe that you were once unsure of how to do that thing. And it probably felt amazing isn't it?

Marketing funnels for creators must begin with the first change. It's the reason I consider them to be something different: Transformational Funnels. When your marketing funnel moves students through a transformation and then make money by teaching.

Think about it: it takes time to really dig deep and understand about something. Learning and mastery is built over time. In most cases, there's an innate sequence of events and milestones to be achieved through the process of learning. (For example, you probably will not be able to juggle chainsaws until initially learn how to handle three balls, and then four and then two chainsaws and so on.) Creators who provide this first lesson for free on their channels are the most successful.

The best aspect? It is the exact design of a funnel for marketing. With zero strategizing or marketing administrative work, an intuitive and expertise-based funnel (a transformed funnel!) is already in the mind of the author.

How to sell as a top-selling teacher

Thrive Training Institute Welcome Video

We'll look at an example of how this transformative funnel appears to be. We'll look at Brandon who is a teacher at the Thrive Training Institute. Brandon teaches an effective and essential thing that parents need to know how they can help their child in an emergency. Recently, he posted an Instagram posting that highlighted the critical problem that choking is the most common cause of death in children. At the end of that blog post, he advised people to read his complimentary guide on the subject.

It's a usual lead-generating technique, isn't it? Present a problem and tease an answer. What happened? The post bombed. 17 likes, no comments. Why? Brandon was thinking like an entrepreneur. He made a commercial. It presents a dilemma, but no solution. It doesn't help the student in their process of changing.

Contrast that post with a more recent one. Brandon has a completely unique approach with this one: he instructs parents how to act in the event that their child's choking. So much value! So, what happened? The post received 153 views when I wrote the post -- 10x the first posting, and a ton of comments. In teaching how to solve an issue, Brandon provides a transformation. A digestible "a ha!" moment that prompts a journey for his audience. Teaching is powerful!

It is worth noting that Brandon is giving really good material at no cost. It could be like a risk. Who would buy the course when they could just get it for no cost on Instagram? However, sixty seconds aren't enough to study everything you'll need to know to save children during an emergency! Once they've begun learning the skills, they can finish it by following his tutorial. Because his followers are thrilled with the change They're also sharing the article to others as well. (Think of the time when you were able to learn something new and you were thrilled to tell someone about it.)

He's building his audience and is offering a significant (and free!) change -- as well as creating a powerful lead funnel to his company. Brandon is selling through the teaching process. Brandon is selling in a manner that's natural and authentic. It's simple, it's effective, and it's intuitive for Brandon as well as his followers Everyone is winning.

The value of authentically selling

The most dynamic (and successful!) businesses are built on authentic intention and action. It's the same for teaching -- the most impactful and effective teachers have a deep feeling of authenticity and motivation. Reminisce about the most effective teachers that you've had. Get a pen and paper, or take out your notebook, and prior to going on to read, you should write down the words you would use to describe them.

The most powerful and influential teachers were in deepand complete connection with their authentic. (Thank for your teachers, Bob as well as Irfhan!) They were magnetic, inspiring and interesting. The reason they were so was that they were genuine.

Through making selling more natural and easy, we're able to unleash this potential in every creator who loves to instruct. My aim is to enable artists everywhere to share their knowledge and be in complete harmony with their authentic self. Consider, even for a moment about the potential effects. An ever-growing category of people who are able to teach and live authentically and fully to sharing transformational experience on a global level. If I contemplate this idea, that's when I clearly see one, incredible thing that is a new world.
