What happens if schools learn incorrectly? Discover the ways that University Creativity Professor Juan Munoz is making more an impact in his creative work by first improving his student.

At the start of class, creativity and innovation instructor Juan Munoz informed his students that they were free to submit their work at any time they desired.

"It could be written down, done by hand, and it could be written using computer software, it may be video or it can be a podcast-you can choose what to do. If you'd like to send a messenger take a dive into your work, it's fine. It's not necessary to be restricted by a paper and Google Doc," he directed.

Even with this flexibility the students at his university produced identical PDFs that had the same formatting every single time.

"I was so angry," Juan remembers. "I thought this was something that was easy to accomplish anywhere in the world. What are they doing to discover creativity if they are unable to complete this task?"

The pattern continued to develop, Juan wondered if there could be a larger issue in play.

"Students are instructed to adhere to a certain way of thinking through the course of ten, fifteen years in the education. They are taught by the school that regardless of how brilliant or impressive, you'll get penalized when you don't follow the rules your teacher has ordered you to follow. It's a fear that comes with deviating from the established norm."

Juan was able to see how this inner programming had a negative effect on imagination and so he decided to change things.

Juan enjoyed teaching but he felt constricted by regulations at the university. At home, he was reading TechCrunch and other magazines for entrepreneurs, it gave him an idea for the business.

In the beginning, there was no vibrant entrepreneurial environment in his native country, Costa Rica, so Juan determined to get things in motion.

"I have a civil engineering degree and knew that many would be thinking, "What is this person's knowledge of business?' The first thing I made was to write all of my thoughts in a blog and shared them with. I began my career as creative by sharing my thoughts out on the web and sharing the things I'm capable of doing."

Presently, Juan teaches creativity, goals-setting, entrepreneurship, as well as business through his educational online platform called Epico Academia . Then Juan began to experiment with different ways to send his messages to his followers.

"What do I do if I take the program via email where you'll get amazing every week for the duration of the entire year ? or TikTok-style content, only 30 second videos. Could I make a course with hundreds of videos that are 30 seconds long? Perhaps. Try it and see if this works."

"I am amazed by your capacity to make content that is basically what I'd like in any arrangement I'd like. I could create a course that's just 100 videos of 30 seconds that allow students to go through the entire course."

One of the test results that worked was an email newsletter focusing on Mondays.

If you're looking to experiment, Juan experimented with something distinct from the norm and ended up creating the most loved resource of his: The Monday newsletter .

At the beginning of his business online, Juan noticed a trend.

"Every Sunday night as well as on the morning of Monday everybody would discuss memes about how they hate Mondays." Juan declares. "I realized that there is always going to be one Monday. You can't escape it. The question is, why do you remain getting stuck?"

"I started to realize that they are the exact individuals who reach me to say"I'm not happy in my current situation. I'm not happy with my job and would like to do better It was a recurring regularity. I'm a fan of branding and marketing. I also thought that this would be a good branding strategy because it's easy to become grumpy on Mondays. Juan started a newsletter all about his love of Mondays. In it, he would share a tip an idea, concept or thought that would help his subscribers in getting the most of their time.

"It attracted lots of individuals because they were dissatisfied with what was happening within their lives. I talked about methods to improve their lives. The discussion made people question"Why do I feel so irritable on Mondays?'"

Today, this experiment-turned-newsletter continues to grow through word-of-mouth referrals, and Juan still loves writing it every week.

The thought process of a product or idea is as easy to put together as the daily newspaper that you read on Monday or even the daily newspaper. Juan discovered that the most effective method to understand the concepts of content and product was to study for a second time.

"I'm constantly amazed by the fact that we get to live in a place that is taught by any person who is willing to take lessons from us. It's amazing. If I'm interested by marbles I'll find someone that's so much in love with marbles, they'll show me something that's new. They could be or are from Singapore or perhaps Singapore. I may have no idea who they are, but I will benefit from their writings."

To be a professional writer do as much as you can on subjects you like.

"I encourage people to read whatever they're curious about," Juan recommends. "Often you'll find free content on social media. If you actually read the posts, you realize, this really doesn't have to be that hard. He's talking about marbles. There's no need to have the Ph.D. in a subject."

"There was a period when there were experts in the field," Juan explains. "There were people who know every aspect of one particular topic, but there was only the most basic information available. Information available was not as vast as the information we get nowadays. Information was organized in a place. The information was clearly stored. were a single person expert in all things, and were considered to be the expert. However, that's not a problem anymore."

"There are a lot of people that know a lot however, there's also many who are a bit knowledgeable and there's always someone that knows much less than you. Therefore, you could make the material they require and still have a big impact."

The more opportunities that you're given to travel and learn more, the more wisdom you'll give to those you meet. If you're not sure what to teach or how to teach stop and think about becoming a student to reignite your inspiration.

What if you created objects that you enjoyed creating?

One of the most important lesson Juan realized during his entrepreneurial adventure was that there are a variety of routes people can take to share their passions.

Creating also shouldn't be all focused on achieving a specific outcome including financial goals, milestones or followers count. Find a way to strike a balance between Telic objectives and the Atelic.

"Telic targets" are those with the goal of achieving a specific outcome, which is measurable. These goals are great to achieve for the purpose to achieve them. How to develop goals with both types of purposes with both in mind." Juan shares.

"If you're actually helping people, then it doesn't matter whether it's one person or one million."

Additionally, you will make money from working around the world.

"If you share a tweets, Instagram posting or video, and nobody is able to see the message, it's still there. It will be discovered by someone eventually. In addition, gaining followers on your blog and helping others with your blog post are two distinct items. I like a variety of items that I never double-tap. "Creating is an extremely visceral experience. It's a feeling, it's an extremely honest and vulnerable," Juan relates. "It's an expression of who you are and how you feel. Putting it on the web and not letting people take notice is horrible."

"But no matter if nobody buys that book interesting. It provided you with a wealth of knowledge. What you learned could be used in your the field of consulting, or in your next position as well as in other. Nobody can take it from you. It's soul-bound."

In order to stay connected with the things that matter the most to you, Juan describes how crucial it is to recall where you're from and feel happy with the things you've done to date.

"I recommend that artists write down their thoughts and reflect on what they're doing today by looking back at your work five years ago or even ten years ago, and two decades ago. Think about what you'd think about the job you're working on today. Since in the past, you'd probably think it was great."

In the end, Juan reminds creators that the main thing to remember is to get your work out there to the public at large. The goal is not to get the highest number of customers, followers, or sales.

"I find it arrogant to think that people will not like the products you sell. You're making the decision on behalf of a third party. They decide. If they like it, they'll buy it. If not, they won't. The only thing you have to do is make it available to the people that need it. Take a deeper look at the world around you. take the time to study as much as you can, and decide on the choices other people take. Make your own decisions."

"Create your own thing, and then get your work on the market," Juan says. "You do not know what might take place in the near future."
