Triathlete's knowledge commerce journey goes through coaching and courses until a community-based membership

Apr 28, 2022

A doctorate degree in exercise physiology, conducting studies that is peer-reviewed, and also training Olympians in addition to professional Ironman athletes were not enough for Dr. Dan Plews. In addition, he's an athlete in his own rights and is the record holder for the 2018 Ironman Age Group World Championship Course Winner record holder. His time was 8:24.36. In the aftermath of his win and his training as well as his knowledge of the topic the athlete was greeted with a plethora of questions , particularly regarding low carbohydrate diets as well as its use in triathlons that have longer distances.
This is how Professor. Plews made the decision to make money from his knowledge via the EndureIQ and also added the title of 'knowledge creator in his listing of professions. Let's look at his path.

The interview was slightly edited to improve clarity.

The coaching soon led to courses

At first the Doctor. Plews started out using a direct approach to coaching. He was aware of the things he could do by conducting one-on-one consultations.

In the year 2019, Endure IQ was born. "I was asked so many questions and suggestions that I decided to create the course together. The first time I thought "Oh I'll make an easy white course that can be put using PowerPoint'. In the end, I spoke with a trusted friend who advised me that if it's entirely your choice to do this, you should do a proper job.'"

There are currently four courses that comprise the core, as well as other mini-courses. Professor Dr. Plews says, "Our main courses are comprised of 10 courses that take between 10 and 15 hours of training. Students have access to our courses over a time period of 12-weeks. Additionally, they have access to the instructors." They are also approved by affiliated associations such as USA Triathlon, the American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Triathlon.

The courses begin

EndureIQ announced a pre-launch for the LDT One-on-1 Course. "We announced that we'd limit it to the 50 first participants who signed up, and the course launched in less than thirty minutes." The Dr. Plews recalls.

The classes were extremely popular! The response, however, was huge. Professor. Plews immediately realized that his students were eager to have access to course material along with the web-based webinars that were conducted by instructors after they had completed the course.

He was faced with the problem of needing to continue providing assistance. Here are his views about this matter:

"I have decided to not make the course available for all time, as it will provide the students with an opportunity to continue asking questions for as long as they want. There are demands at today, which is not how education processes function. As an undergraduate, that enrolls in a class has access to experts instructors, professors and teachers during the course. However, you're not allowed to have the experts answer questions all in the course of your life."

Earning revenue

Then , the The Dr. Plews discovered a way to satisfy the needs of his customers, in along with earning revenue recurring by using the same material in his classes. He created a weekly five dollar subscription that allows students access to course materials as well as webinars to students who have finished the course.

"I joined this program almost immediately. It's an excellent choice as there's a large number of people who've returned," the man says.

The cost is set at an amount of at least $5 per week. It will include every course which students' have completed in order to give him a chance to reward loyal students who have taken several courses. Dan said he had 175 students who were part of the group during our meeting. Therefore, he's capable of earning an impressive amount of cash every week by providing access to the materials required that are required for the class, as well as being in a position to answer the questions.

Subscription revenue opens doors

Subscriptions can generate income. These revenues in turn provide further opportunities for businesses.

The Dr. Plews says, "The most significant benefit of a subscription model is the capacity to make more informed business decisions. You are assured of more revenues, and also be aware about the employees you're bringing in and the places you're putting your money because it's less risky. As opposed to being completely dependent on the new sales, it's impossible to have a clue about the month most likely to yield."

Additionally, being member of a group with a lot of participation is another advantage - it provides him with an active community of individuals whom he can consult to find new courses, or other relevant comments.

However, Dan is realistic about how to sustain an active group of members. "The disadvantages are the fact that they're always on," he says, "There is a significant amount of customer support which is provided through the subscription model since people are always asking questions."
